150-Watt Integrated Solar Street Lights with Cleaning Function Installed in the Philippines

In May of this year, our company exported 320 sets of 150-watt integrated solar street lights with cleaning functions to Manila, Philippines, and installed them on city streets. When the customer initially purchased the solar street lights, they were concerned about dust covering the solar panels and birds contaminating the panels, thereby affecting solar power generation efficiency. They requested that we add an automatic cleaning function to the 150-watt integrated solar street lights.

Solar-powered clean street lamps

To this end, our R&D team added a solar automatic cleaning device to the existing 150-watt solar street lights. This device regularly cleans the solar panels, removing dust particles and contaminants, leaving them looking pristine. Furthermore, we use an MPPT controller.

This MPPT control technology monitors the photovoltaic panel output in real time and dynamically adjusts the voltage and current through algorithms (such as the perturbation-and-observe method) to ensure operation at the maximum power point. A DC-DC converter is used to step down the voltage and increase the current to minimize energy loss. Efficiency exceeds 95%, particularly significant under varying light intensity or temperature conditions. Compared to PWM controllers, this effectively improves charging efficiency. The core difference between MPPT (maximum power point tracking) and PWM (pulse width modulation) lies in their operating methods and efficiency: MPPT dynamically tracks the solar panel's maximum power point to achieve highly efficient energy conversion (efficiency exceeding 95%), while PWM simply switches on and off to match the battery voltage, resulting in lower efficiency (approximately 70-80%).

Cleaning function of solar panelsThe 150-watt integrated solar street light with cleaning function can be scheduled for daily cleaning or weekly sweeping of the solar panel. This significantly improves the efficiency of charging the street light's lithium battery from the solar panel.

After receiving our 150-watt integrated solar street light with cleaning function, a customer in Manila organized workers to begin installation. Following video guidance from our technical team, 320 sets of the 150-watt integrated solar street light with cleaning function were installed in just five days. Customer feedback, including photos, also expressed satisfaction with the brightness!
